SELENE SEMA GROUP
Our Selene Sema group was established in 2000. Over the last seven years we have had over 1000 Sema performances in Turkey and overseas .
In the begining we had only 6 musician and 10 Semazens . Now we have more than 20 musician and around 50 Semazens . All our musicians have studied in the conservatium . The Semazens have had the Dergah tradition as their natural heritage in Konya.
Our aim is to show this ritual in an authentic atmosphere. We envisage taking this Sema performances around the world.
From april to november we organise Sema performances everyday in our specially decorated salon behind the Mevlana museum in Konya.
We can arrange large or small Sema performances anywhere around the world. We have already performed in USA, Spain, Italy, Pakistan, Germany, Japan, Greece, Bosnia, Iran, Cyprus, and many cities in Turkey. We have also performed for CNBC, WRT, Channel 5, Rai 1, and TRT tv.
